NFL Playoffs: Auburn and Alabama Alumni Impact
The NFL will determine the participants for Super Bowl LX on Sunday, with each of the four remaining teams featuring at least one former Auburn player on their active roster. This marks a significant turnaround for Auburn, ensuring that at least one alumnus will emerge as an NFL champion following the 2025 season, after two consecutive Super Bowls without any representation. In contrast, Alabama leads all colleges with 72 former players participating in NFL regular-season games in 2025, although they do not have a guaranteed Super Bowl winner this year. Notably, the Los Angeles Rams are the only Super Bowl LX contender without an Alabama alumnus on their roster. Across the first 59 Super Bowls, 50 Alabama and 40 Auburn alumni have played. Additionally, other Alabama colleges are represented, including UAB and Troy, contributing to a total of 21 players from Alabama high schools and colleges on the active rosters of the playoff teams. The upcoming conference championship games will finalize the teams competing in Super Bowl LX, scheduled for February 8 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
